Thank you very much for visiting our website. Even if we created this online boutique for the British stitchers' community, we have customers outside the UK and we genuinely appreciate your interest.

It is not so easy to find a French website which is 100% in English and displays only French designs and embellishments (with of course all instructions translated in English). That is why we are more than happy to do our best to deliver worldwide when asked.

To spare you some time, here are the answers to the most frequently asked questions we get from non UK residents:

About prices:
You can shop only in British pounds (GBP) at our boutique. So you may want  to check the exchange rate between GBP and your own currency before placing an order. You can do this here http://www.xe.com/. Otherwise you will know the "real price" only when you are about to pay with your card or your Paypal account.

About delivery:
We are based in France. Our fixed delivery cost of £4 applies only for UK or Europe residents. The delivery cost that applies to your country depends on what you order. To know it, just This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. (or use the contact form in the top menu) telling us which designs/goods you'd like to order. We will weigh them and give you the real delivery cost. Should you need specific delivery services (tracking number, insurance, fast delivery, etc), we can quote it for you too (again at real cost).

About downloading:
No,the designs we sell can't be downloaded (only our free charts and tutorials can be). This is a requirement from the designers we work with. There are so many copyright abuses with the Internet that preventing the digitalization of their designs is unfortunately one of the last ways they have to preserve their rights. This means you won't find these designs for downloading anywhere (if you would it would be from illegal sources and you should report it to us or to the designer).
In any case, the price for a digitalized pattern would be pretty much the same as for the "real" one. Because what you pay for is a genuine design, not the sheets of paper.

About cutting the costs:
If you are a member of a local stitch or crafts club and want to organize a stitch along based on one of our designs, we will be more than happy to study a special price for you. If you would like to share the delivery costs with fellow stitchers or place a "bulk" order, we can make a quotation as well and you may benefit from special offers. Just This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. with your needs.

To place an order:
Once you have chosen what you would like to order, send us an e-mail with the products' names and potential delivery requirements. We will send you by return of mail the price of the delivery and will create in our system a special shipping rate. Then you will just have to follow the normal process (add items to your cart, create your account and follow the check-out process selecting the "shipping method" we have created for you).

Thank you very much for visiting our website. Even if we created this online boutique for the British stitchers' community, we have customers in North America and we genuinely appreciate your interest.

It is not so easy to find a French website which is reliable, 100% in English and displays only French designs and embellishments (with of course all instructions translated in English). That is why we are more than happy to do our best to satisfy your specific needs.

To spare you some time, here are the answers to the most frequently asked questions we get from North American visitors:

About delivery:
We are based in France. Our delivery cost for North America is £6 for designs and £8 for kits. We refund the difference between the cost you paid and the real cost we paid whenever it is significant. If you are ordering only one or two patterns or a small item, you may want to check with us the real delivery price. To do so, just This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. (or use the contact form in the top menu) telling us which designs/goods you'd like to order and we will weigh them and give you the real delivery cost.

All items are sent by La Poste Priority Mail, which is supposed to take between 4 and 8 working days to reach you (but sometimes it can take longer). You should expect to receive your package 10-12 days after our shipping confirmation. You can also choose a "Priority Mail + tracking number" shipping method for £7,50 instead of £5. This tends to be faster than "just" Priority Mail but there is no guaranty from La Poste regarding the delivery time. As the name says, it gives the possibility to track the package to your home though you don't need to sign (the package can be left in your mailbox provided that it fits in).

Of course, should you need specific delivery services (insurance, fast delivery, etc), we can quote it for you too (again at real cost). Just send us an e-mail.

About prices:
You can shop only in British pounds (GBP) at our boutique. So you may want  to check the exchange rate between GBP and US or Canadian dollars before placing an order. You can do this here http://www.xe.com/. Otherwise you will know the real price in dollars only when you are about to pay with your card or your Paypal account.
Our prices are based on the prices in France (meaning we can't sell at a cheaper price than the designer herself in France). We are aware that you may find some items a bit expensive compared to what you are used to in North America. Find out why below.

About quality:
The designs we sell are the result of a real work of creation by an independant designer. They are not an existing picture that is simply computarized, or a file from a bank of images that is automatically transformed into a grid by a software. Most of our designers draw by hand, even use watercolours before transforming their design into a chart. They take time to hand-pick the thread (floss) colours and often stitch the pattern themselves in order to correct the grid before marketing the design.
All the items we sell are made in France even the fabrics, the ribbons and the braids. Most of them are not mass-produced: buttons, pendant, charms, decorative pins and overdyed threads are hand-made. Pre-printed linen, ready-to-transfer pictures, wood hangers and thread-holders are limited editions. So is our range of ready-to-stitch items which are carefully made of top quality materials in a small studio near Paris.

Shopping with us: Quality Chart

We provide a friendly and efficient service, check our customers' testimonials.

Because we are well aware:

  • of the time it takes to complete a stitched project,
  • of the pleasure and satisfaction it should always bring,

we commit to providing you with the best quality products and services.

That is why:

  • we do our best to provide clear and complete information on each product as well as at least one picture which shows you the product as close as possible as it is in flesh ; for hand-made products, when we are aware that some differences may be relevant to you, we take a picture of each single item for you to be sure to buy exactly the one you've seen on the picture;
  • we pride ourself on offering products entirely made in France, or when this isn't possible (which can occur, though rarely for fabrics and embellishments) that are designed in France and made in Europe. In all cases, the origin of the product (if not France) will always be clearly stated so that you know exactly what you're buying;
  • all the products on sale on this website are in stock; for hand-made products, there may be sometimes only one item as they are really unique: it is usually mentionned in the product description;
  • we take great care in storing, packaging and shipping the goods.

On top of all the care we take, we would like you to be aware while shopping on our website that:

  • we can not guarantee that the colours you see on your monitor are exactly the same as the product's ones. This depends on the graphic capabilities of your computer and monitor.
  • sometimes you may find that a picture isn't clear or large enough, especially for cross-stitch designs ; this is due to copyright issues ; we do our best to add close-ups and colour palette pictures but do not hesitate to contact us if in doubt;
  • dimensions of a design in cm or inch are always indicative as they can vary depending on the fabric, especially with linen; you should always refer to the stitch count to work out an accurate design area given the fabric you've chosen;
  • dimensions of the "recommended fabric": we usually add to the design area a 10cm margin in all directions in order to facilitate your stitching and to allow different finishing possibilities; sometimes it may not be the case depending on the finishing instructions given by the designer ; please make sure to check the fabric size you need depending on your own project (it may be less or more than the recommended one);
  • dimensions of the fabric when you buy a kit or pack: you will receive a piece of fabric of at least the dimensions in cm (inches dimensions only are indicative).

Shopping with us: Copyright notice

Please, take time to read the following important information about copyrights.

SoCreaStitch is a website specialised in selling embroidery designs and kits.
All the designs sold by SoCreaStitch are registered and protected under intellectual property laws.
SoCreaStitch is particularly committed to ensuring the protection of the designers' rights.

Therefore when buying a design or pattern through SoCreaStitch.co.uk,
you are not allowed to:

  • photocopy the chart (or part of the chart) to give it to a fellow stitcher or sell it;
  • digitize the chart (or part of the chart) to e-mail it or make it available on your blog, a forum or any  other personal webpages.

Sharing patterns on forums (whether it is free or not) is totally illegal and is currently impoverishing the creativity and reducing the number of patterns available as some designers have decided to stop their activity.

But if you'd like to, you are of course very welcome to:

  • modify the pattern in order to adapt it to your own project;
  • take a picture of your finished work and show it on your blog or personal webpage, quoting the name of the designer and mentioning that you have adapted the design if this is the case;
  • resell the original chart (not a photocopy) after you've used it.

In abiding by this copyright statement you will help us to protect creativity and the work of our designers: that is the best way to ensure the stitchers' community with lots of new original designs in the future!
