"Forbidden to Birds" is a cross-stitch chart with instructions translated in English.
We just love the way of this strawman attracts birds instead of frightening them! The small text on the spade says "Forbidden to" with the pattern of a bird in back stitches (text in French on the grid but easy to adapt in English as it is in back stitches).
Design stitch count: 59 wide x 129 high
Design area:
- 11,8 x 25,8 cm (4¾ x 10¼ in) on a 25 count fabric
- 10,7 x 23,5 cm (4¼ x 9¼ in) on a 28 count fabric or on a 14 count Aida
- 9,8 x 21,5 cm (3¾ x 8½ in) on a 32 count fabric
- 9,4 x 20,5 cm (3¾ x 8 in) on a 16 count Aida
Special stitches: This is a cross-stitch design with quite a lot of back stitches and straight stitches, some Smyrna cross-stitches, some eyelet stitches and 8 French knots (very clear drawings and instructions on the chart).
Threads and colours
This pattern shows 15 colours (DMC references on the chart).
The model on the picture has been stitched on a 28 count linen colour "off-white" using two strands of cotton over two threads of fabric.
Recommended Fabric: of your choice regarding the type (linen / evenweave / Aida) and the stitch count, colour "white" or "off-white", 30x45 cm (12x18 in).
